The regenerative medicine that we propose wants to regenerate damaged tissues, using similar mechanisms to those naturally used by the body.

Actually, the cultured stem cells we use are obtained from the patient himself through an exclusive protocol developed after 20 years of research.

Differences between treatments

Stem cell treatments can be divided into 2 types, those that use cultured stem cells and those that are performed in the same session and therefore do not activate, grow or expand the cells. 
While the treatments with Cultured Stem Cells need a few weeks to activate and multiply them until obtaining millions of units; in the case of the rest of the treatments, the application lasts only about 90 minutes and the product contains a much lower amount of stem cells.


Tissue regeneration can only be achieved if a certain volume of stem cells can be reached and the only way to achieve it is to send to the laboratory the few cells obtained from patients and multiply them to reach millions of units.

The clinical trials carried out have shown that it is a permanent therapy, the tissues regenerate from the first moment and continue to regenerate in successive years in a totally natural way.

This therapy, unlike what happens with other treatments, is the only one that has the approval of the Spanish Medicines Agency (AEMPS), which approves each case in detail.


These treatments are carried out in the same session, blood or adipose tissue is extracted from the patient, which is centrifuged and injected in the patient in the same session. 
These therapies have an analgesic and anti-inflammatory power, but it is not permanent, since the volume of stem cells is limited to that obtained from the patient himself and is much lower.

In addition, the extraction of abdominal fat entails a lot of discomfort for the patient since it generates large bruises and pain for 3 weeks to the point of having to be sick.


Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a biological product that is obtained from the patient’s own blood, selecting the fraction that corresponds to platelets thanks to a centrifugation process that concentrates them. The treatment is carried out in the same session in which both the extraction and the treatment are carried out.

PRP contains growth factors and other proteins that act as modulators of inflammation and pain, but clinical trials have shown that it does not regenerate.


It consists of the extraction of adipose tissue from the patient, usually from the abdominal area, which is centrifuged and filtered in the same session and, later, implanted in the patient.
It is made up of different cells, including adult stem cells. It favors circulation and healing, thanks to the presence and arrangement of blood and lymphatic vessels in the different tissues and organs. However, SVF cannot be called stem cell therapy, since there are a wide variety of other cells in this substance, studies have confirmed that the amount of stem cells it includes is between 1% and 8% , while the remaining 92% are lymphocytes.

Solve your doubts about regenerative medicine

It is a group of cells that give rise to other tissues and that recently, thanks to the clinical trials carried out by ITRT, it has been shown that they have the ability to regenerate tissues damaged by trauma, aging and tear.

The sources for obtaining mesenchymal stem cells are diverse, they can be obtained from bone marrow (iliac crest bone), adipose tissue (vasculo stromal fraction) or blood. In ITRT we prefer to obtain it from bone marrow because clinical practice and studies have shown us that they show a higher degree of activation, while in others sources are usually found in a certain state of lethargy.

The number of stem cells obtained from adipose tissue, in the technique called Stromal Vascular Fracture (SVF) is very small and shows the same cell viability as in other treatments, this is a false statement that is common to find. Actually, the amount of stem cells we can get from an adult body is small.

The treatments can be basically divided into two types: those that are carried out in the same session and that have a temporary effect and those that require a culturing in the laboratory and that show permanent activity. The culturing multiplies the number of cells to millions which allows a natural regeneration of the body’s tissues.

Stem cells are scarce and difficult to extract from the body, culturing them in the laboratory allows us to multiply the number of stem cells to even exceed 250 million units. Culturing is carried out in an external laboratory for a few days, to be infused in a second intervention a few weeks later. At ITRT we have implanted from 20 to 160 million stem cells in a single intervention.

The treatment involves two interventions, a first to extract the stem cells and a second to implant them in the body. Both interventions are brief, painless and patient leaving the center by their own feet.

However, the latest evidence has shown that the use of cultured allogeneic stem cells (or those from other patients) are just as effective and do not generate any type of rejection. The fact of undergoing through a culturing makes it suitable for them to be implanted in other patients and show the same effectiveness.
